I waited to write this update until the final candidate lists for the Israeli elections were declared. That happened last week so finally we know who will actually be standing. I am glad the Standing Together team have decided not to run their own list but are instead concentrating on getting the Israeli Palestinian population […]

Apologies for not writing an Update last month. I had a minor operation on my hand and was struggling to use my computer. Since my last update in June, on one level not much has changed, but behind the headlines there have been many developments. In Israel, the election campaign now in full swing. The […]
Today marks 1,000 days since 7 October 2023 when Hamas attacked Israel. That day saw the largest one-day loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust. Hamas engaged in mass murder of civilians as well as combatants, mass murder of children as well as adults, widespread rape, and the kidnapping of hostages, while recording their crimes […]
A month has passed since my previous update but the situation across the Middle East has not changed much. The non-ceasefires in both Gaza and South Lebanon are in place in name only. The conflict with Iran continues with no sign of ending, despites Trump’s oft repeated claim that some sort of long-term solution will […]
I am a little late this month in writing this update due to domestic issues, my apologies. In the last few weeks events in Palestine and Israel have dropped out of the headlines in most of our media. However, that does not mean that peace has descended on the area, far from it. The plight […]
When I started to write this month’s update just before the start of Pesach (Passover) and Good Friday, I was acutely aware of the situation in Palestine, Israel, and Iran. I was worried that by the time I finished it after Pesach the war across the Middle East would still be going. Thankfully, the bombing […]
Last week, as I was beginning to think about this month’s update, I was looking at a month where nothing much had happened to change the situation in Palestine or Israel. Gaza was still waiting for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza to start taking over controlling the Territory, while the situation in […]
Since I last wrote, the war in Gaza has been mostly out of the news. However, behind the headlines, and despite the Ceasefire still being in place and the conflict being at a lower level than before, the fighting has continued. There have also been developments in building the National Committee for the Administration of […]
At our AGM last year, we were one year into the horrendous war in Gaza. Re-reading my report from then is sobering, too little has changed. While there is now a ceasefire in Gaza that seems to be just about holding, there has been little progress in resolving the issues that will allow the people […]
My apologies for being little late with this month’s update. I have not been well for a few days but also I wanted to wait until the outcome of the Trump Peace initiative became clearer. This morning (Monday) we are seeing the last of the living Hostages being returned to Israel and Palestinian Detainees and […]
